Mabel Ferguson, daughter of the late Wiley and Ida Bell Carwile Gillis, was born in Dexter, Missouri on October 4, 1919, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on June 7, 2007, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 3 days.
Mrs. Ferguson had lived in Dexter, Missouri most of her life. She had worked as a supervisor at the Stoddard County Sheltered Workshop before her retirement and was a member of the Church of Christ in Dexter, Missouri.
Surviving are two sons, Gary Allen Tandski of Dexter, Missouri, Derill Ferguson, Jr. of Hartville, Ohio; three daughters, Brinda Wallis, LaVerne Tinker and LaVeda Banken all of Dexter, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren: Richard, Michael and Savanna Tandski, Jim Wallis, Melinda Keys, Martin Wallis, Jason and Lance Banken, Leslie Noles, Joyce Snider, Yvonne Bosson, Michelle, Raquel and Samantha Ferguson. thirteen great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Gene Gillis and one sister, Olive Ellis.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 9, 2007, after 11:00 .M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM. on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Dale Grissom of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
