Don Taylor, son of the late William I. and Lydia Bond Taylor, was born in New Madrid, Missouri on February 19, 1913, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on January 24, 2009 at the age of 95 years, 11 months and 5 days.
Mr. Taylor had lived in Louisville, Kentucky where he had been a service station operator and a member of the Lions Club. He moved to Dexer, Missouri in 1999, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri.
In 1966 he was married to Clara Barnes in Gray Ridge, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Taylor of Dexter, Missouri; one son, Bobby Joe Taylor of Arkansas; one daughter, Margaret Ann Massey of Tennessee; five step-daughters, Beulah Berry of Bloomfield, Missouri, Betty Cruse of Gray Ridge, Missouri, Barb Bryant of Rockford, Illinois, Bonnie Crumpecker of Morehouse, Missouri, Brenda Robbins of Spotsvania, Virginia; two step-sons, Clavin Taylor of Bloomfield, Missouri, Carlis Taylor of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; one brother, Wilburn Taylor of Nebraska; two sisters, Pearlene Bishop of St. Louis, Missouri and Martha Latham of Bernie, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Dillard and Harold Taylor and one sister, Virginia Stout.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, after 10:00AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Shane Mallard of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
