Louis Amel Frank, the son of the late Fredrick Claud and Anzel Ringham Frank, was born in Dexter, Missouri on February 23, 1922, and passed away at the John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on April 13, 2007, at the age of 85 years, 1 months and 21 days.
Amel had spent his entire life the the Dexter area. He was a veteran of the the U.S. Army and had served in WWII. He had been a member of the American Legion for 60 years and had served in many offices.
On February 14, 1946, he was married to Eva McCormick in Risco, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 6, 1996.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Alice Casey of Dexter, Missouri; four grandchildren and spouses, Angela and Scott Ray of Witchita, Kansas and children, Gatlin and Emily, Amy and Andy Love of Anniston, Alabama and children, Brianna, Monica and Nicholas, Travis and Sandra Casey of Dexter, Missouri and children, Hailee, Janna, Elizabeth and Leah, Garrett Casey of Dexter, Missouri; one sister, Ellen Watson of Dexter, Missouri; two nephews, Frank Watson of St. Louis, Missouri, Harold Watson of Springfield, Missouri; and one niece, Ann Marie Watson of Florida. Many other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Scott Edward Casey.
Friends may call on Monday, April 16, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at 11:00 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Gerald King of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Caroline-Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
