Lou Maggie Ayers of St. Peters, daughter of the late Gomile and Viola Johnson Ayers, was born in Ozan, Arkansas on January 28, 1937, and passed away at the St. Peters Manor in St. Peters on February 12, 2020, at the age of 83 years and 15 days.
Lou Maggie had been a resident of Malden for many years. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church in Poplar Bluff. She enjoyed cooking, doing puzzles, reading her bible and attending church.
On July 19, 1955, Lou Maggie married Ralph Ayers. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1992.
Surviving are two sons and wives, Rufus & Annette Ayers of St. Peters, Dr. Jackie & Shirley Ayers of Gainesville Florida; one daughter and husband, Brenda Faye & Jessie Porter of Malden; six grandchildren and spouces, Sonja & Tinkie, Gannon & Kellie, Sheri "Nicky" & Dr. Jerome, Shayla, Trey, and Jessica; 7 great grandchildren; 2 nieces & spouses and 1 nephew. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother Gomile Nelson; one sister Dorothy Moore.
Friends may visit on Saturday, February 15, 2019, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the
Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 2:30 pm in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
