Lottie Mae Gunn, the daughter of the late George W. and Ada Stark Clark, was born in Bryant, Missouri on July 9, 1924 and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, November 20, 2005, at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 11 days. Lottie had lived in the Dexter, Missouri area all her life and was raised by her grandmother, the late Rhoda Caroline Stark. Lottie had attended the Dexter public schools and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter that was founded by her father-in-law, William Gunn. Lottie was a devoted wife of 59 years, a Sunday School teacher who spent 58 years teaching the children. Lottie and husband, Jim, also sang throughout the area for community and church. On October 18, 1946, she was married to James Gunn in Piggott, Arkansas. Surviving are her husband, James Gunn of Dexter, Missouri; two daughters son in law, Carolyn Bradford of Tomball, Texas, Susan & James Hughes of Jackson, Missouri; five grandchildren, Dan & Annie Hook of Montgomery, Texas, Sherri & Jay Migl-Barton of Tomball, Texas, Sam Hook of Woodlands, Texas, Chris & Becca Hook of Vancleave, Mississippi, Brad Hughes of Jackson, Missouri; nine great grandchildren, Andrew, Joey, Christopher, Kelcey, Justin and Kendall Hook, Trey and Ty Migl and Breanna Hughes. She is also survived by many friends and family members. She was preceded in death by one granddaugher, Rebekah Hughes in January of 2003. Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter with the Rev. Robert Bentley of Dexter, Missouri, the Rev. Ronnie Brown of Jackson, Missouri, and the Rev. Dennis Breland of Charleston, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
