Lonnie E. Taylor, the son of the late Forest and Nora Coates Taylor, was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on February 15, 1925, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on February 27, 2007, at the age of 82 years and 12 days.
He had lived in the Bloomfield and Wappapello areas most of his life. He and his wife had worked at the Stoddard County Children's home for thirteen years. He was a member of the New Life Full Gospel Church in Dexter, Missouri.
On November 15, 1947, he was married to Dolly Pearcy in Piggott, Arkansas.
Surviving are his wife, Dolly Taylor of Bloomfield, Missouri; four sons, Dennis Taylor of Bloomfield, Missouri, Bruce Taylor of Wappapello, Missouri, Mark Taylor of Neosho, Missouri, Steve Taylor of Huntsville, Texas; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Pete Taylor of Rockford, Illinois, Bob Taylor of Wappapello, Missouri; two sisters, Colleen Hada of Rockford, Illinois and Ruby Parks of Sikeston, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Taylor, Jr., four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Mike Foster of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
