Lola May Graves Lola May Graves, the daughter of the late Friday and Ora Bessie Walker Mims was born in Risco, Missouri on June 7, 1925, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on August 3, 2006, at the age of 81 years, one month and 27 days. Mrs. Graves had lived in Malden before moving to Dexter in 1958. She had worked in the packing department at the International Hat Factory. On March 30, 1944, she was married to William M. "Slim" Graves in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1980. Surviving are one son, Melvin Graves of Dexter, Missouri; two daughters, Mary Lou Taylor of Dexter, Missouri; Marie Greene of Chino Valley, Arizona; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Freeman Mims of Corning, Arkansas, Leroy Mims of Essex, Missouri and one sister, Wilma June Maloney of Dexter, Missouri. Other friends and relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Marvin Mims and one sister, Bertha Garner. Friends may call on Friday, August 6, 2006, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 6, 2006, at 11:00 A.M. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Clifford Wray of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
