Lillie Marie Payton, daughter of the late George Washington and Nellie Mae Underwood Shadowens, was born in Cobb, Missouri on March 30, 1922, and passed away at her home in Puxico, Missouri on July 30, 2014, at the age of 92 years and 4 months. She had lived in Puxico most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Puxico. She had worked at Tri-County Home Health as a home maker, was a self employed cake decorator and loved her family. On December 13, 1941, she was married to Virgil Payton in Puxico. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1997. Surviving are one son & wife, Larry & Lisa Payton of Puxico; one grandson, Ethan Payton of Puxico; one granddaughter, Sarah Payton of Puxico; one great grandson, Chester Payton of Puxico; and one sister, Mary McLean of Puxico. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother, Elvis Shadowens. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, after 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 2, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Justin Miller of Puxico officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
