Lillie Myrtle Gromer, the daughter of the late John H. Ritchie and Francis Consoilar Barber Ritchie, was born in Hartman, Arkansas on April 30, 1928, and passed away at Missouri Southern Healthcare facility in Dexter, Missouri on March 8, 2007, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 6 days.
Mrs. Gromer had moved to Missouri in 1944, lived in Essex, Missouri from 1969 until when she moved to Dexter. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Dexter, Missouri. She was a wonderful and loving mom and grandmother and will be missed by family and friends.
On February 23, 1946, she was married to Howard E. Gromer. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1993.
Surviving are one son, Bill H. Gromer of Van Buren, Missouri; three daughters, Betty J. Lewis of Campbell, Missouri, Cathy R. Nugent of Montgomery, Louisiana, and Lisa D. Delrie of Dry Prong, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Ronnie Ritchie of Marshall, Missouri, Larry Ritchie of South Carolina; three sisters, Velma Fields, Mary Albers and Brenda Bunnell all of Grayling, Michigan. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Mackie "Randy" Gromer on July 21, 2006, and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at 1:30 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Joseph Geuin of Dexter, Missouri and Bro. Chris Dixon of Corning, Arkansas officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
