Leotis "T" Odom Leotis "T" Odom, the son of the late George Buchanan and Vera Rebecca Turnage Odom, was born in Giltedge, Tennessee on October 20, 1912, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter, Missouri on August 29, 2005, at the age of 92 years, 10 months and 9 days. Mr. Odom moved to Southeast Missouri in 1924, when he was twelve years old and had lived in Essex most of his life. He was a retired farmer and had worked for McMullin Asphalt for several years, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Essex, Missouri. He had served on the Road District for many years. On October 3, 1936, he was married to Daisy Alberta Eaton in Bloomfield, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 12, 1982. In 1983, he was married to Blanche Alice Avery, she preceded him in death on March 27, 2000. Surviving are two sons, Roy Lee Odom of Bloomfield, Missouri, Bobby Odom of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Connie Sifford of Essex, Missouri, Barbara Sue Ward of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, eight grandchildren, Sarah Denise Clark, Heather Marie Ward, Justin Dale Ward, Jessica Ruth Ward, Mary Beth Ward all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Calder Odom of Bloomfield, Missouri, Christopher Wade Odom and Melissa Beth Odom of Ponca City, Oklahoma, two great grandchildren, Seth Clark and Katherine Clark both of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and one niece, Vera Ann Gilbert of Essex, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Robbie Rececca Taylor on Oct. 30, 2003. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, after 12:00 Noon at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at 2:00 PM in the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Gary Gilbert of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
