Leo Lasater, the daughter of the late Wiley Garner and Efie McAuther Garner, was born in Cedar Bluff, Missouri on October 4, 1912, and passed away at the Rosewood Care Center in St. Louis, Missouri on January 11, 2007, at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 7 days. Mrs. Lasater had lived in Gray Ridge before moving to Dexter in 1948, where she made her home until she moved to St. Louis. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Florissant, Missouri and a past Member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter. On July 17, 1929, she was married to Elmer Lasater in Essex, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1985. Surviving are one son, Bobby Lasater of Hazelwood, Missouri; two daughters, Maxine Young of St. Charles, Missouri and Shirley Myers of Florissant, Missouri; three brothers, Wilburn, Carroll and Loman Garner all of Sikeston, Missouri; one sister, Nola Pattengill of Florissant, Missouri; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Lasater; one granddaughter, Judi Young; one brother Hanford Garner and one sister, Opal Harlan. Friends may call after 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
