Lelah Medley, the daughter of the late Willie "Bill" and Bonnie Hicks Medley, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on July 2, 1956, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on January 19, 2008, at the age of 51 years, 6 months and 17 days after a short fight with cancer. Miss Medley had lived in Poplar Bluff all of her life. She was a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri where she enjoyed volunteering at numerous church activities. She had worked in purchasing at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for 31 years. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, cross-stitching, traveling and spending time with her friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews. She had especially enjoyed an Alaskan Cruise with her sisters in 2007. Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Richard & Debbie Medley of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby & Glen Speer of Ft. Worth, Texas, Reba (the late Darry) King and Clelah & Cecil Bradley all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Penny & Ed Muniz of Barnhart, Missouri and Lula & Bobby McDonald of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. Friends may call on Monday, January 21, 2008, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Second Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. at the Second Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri with the Rev. Luther Abbott of Grandin, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Dudley Cemetery in Dudley, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
