Laverne Laird

Laverne Leo Laird, son of the late Clyde E. and Martha Rice Laird, was born in Essex, Missouri on April 26, 1939, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on February 13, 2011, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 18 days. Leo had lived in the Dexter and Essex area all his life and was a retired mechanic. Surviving are three sons, Donald Laird, Randy Laird and Jeffery Laird all of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Leola Laird of Fisk, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three brothers, Lowell Lee "Sam" Laird of Wappapello, Missouri, Lyndell Leroy Laird of Advance, Missouri, Clyde Laird, Jr. of Bloomfield, Missouri; two sisters, Loretta Louise Whittley of Bloomfield, Missouri and Nola Clara Hoggard of Advance, Missouri. Many other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon & Larry Laird. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri. Interment will be in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
