Laura Souers

Laura Souers, daughter of the late Millard and Maggie Griffey Brewer, was born in Keytesville, Missouri on September 27, 1915, and passed away at the Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on September 19, 2012, at the age of 96 years, 11 months, and 13 days. Mrs. Souers had lived in the Poplar Bluff area the past fifty-six years. Many years ago she and her husband had owned and operated the Souers Grocery Store. She was married to Joseph R. Souers in Dover, Delaware. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1992. Surviving are many nieces, nephews and special friends, Lyndle & Helen Kearbey of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was preceded in death by one son, Sonny Oliver Snodgrass; two brothers, J. H. Hester and Lonnie Brewer; two sisters, Lucille Grant and Luella Lockaby. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012, after 9:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012, at 12:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
