Larry Hancock, the son of Ellsworth Hancock and the late Mary Kitchen Hancock, was born in Puxico, Missouri on October 26, 1944, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on December 18, 2006, at the age of 62 years, 1 month and 22 days.
He had lived in Puxico, Missouri all his life, was a graduate of Puxico High School in 1962 and a graduate Southeast Missouri State University in 1990. He was a farmer, bus driver for the Puxico Public Schools and was the Duck Creek Township collector. He attended the Duck Creek Missionary Baptist Church, was a member of the Puxico Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M., and the Scottish Rite in St. Louis, Missouri. He had been a member of the Army National Guard. He enjoyed loafing at Hoover's with friends, jugging, fishing, and hunting.
On November 26, 1977, he was married to Patricia "Pat" Kay Nichols in Bell City, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Pat Hancock of Puxico, Missouri; one son and daughter in law, Richie and Kara Hancock of Puxico, Missouri; two daughters and son in law, Jaime Lynne Hancock and Jackie and Todd Wilkerson both of Puxico, Missouri; one grandchild, Ethan Andrews, his father, Elsworth Hancock of Puxico, Missouri; three brothers and sisters in law, Keith and Melba Hancock, Tim and Rhonda Hancock and Todd and Tammy Hancock all of Puxico, Missouri; two sisters and brothers in law, Debra and Bill Gillean of Fisk, Missouri; Darla and David Crain fo Puxico, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Diane Hancock.
Friends may call after 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2006, at 1:00 P.M. at the Puxico High School Gymnasium in Puxico, Missouri with Elder Jerry Park of Puxico and the Rev. Dean Medlin of Parma, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
