Larry "Gene" Hunsaker of Dexter, son of the late Newton Raymond and Annie Doublin Hunsaker, was born in Essex, Missouri on September 23,1932, and passed away at the Winchester Nursing Home, in Bernie, on January 30, 2020, at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 7 days. Larry "Gene" married Billie June Edwards on February 28, 1953 in Piggott, Arkansas. He lived in the Dexter and Essex area all his life, and was a Veteran of the U S Navy. He owned and operated his own trucking company, Hunsaker Trucking, and was a member of the First Church Of God of Dexter. Surviving are his wife, Billie June Hunsaker of the home; five sons, Jeff Hunsaker of Huber Springs, Arkansas, Bobby Hunsaker of Michigan, Rick Hunsaker of Wappapello, Mark Hunsaker of Perryville, and Danny Hunsaker of West Plains, Missouri; three daughters, Charlotte Hunsaker of Dubois, Pennsylvania, Brenda Alcoser of San Antonio, Texas and Lorie Hunsaker of Jacksonville, Florida; twenty-nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and loving host of great great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Hunsaker of Nixa, Missouri; one sister Glenda Fowler of Flint, Michigan. Other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, one son, Terry Hunsaker, one daughter, Connie Hunsaker, ten brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Leonard Madigan of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Full Military Honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
