Kenneth V. "Porky" McCoy, son of the late Archie McCoy and Lela Gasser, was born in Kewanee, Missouri on November 5, 1956 and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on August 22, 2010, at the age of 53. He lived in the Steele and Sikeston area most of his life. He was married to Earnestdean Stroud and then later married May Fennell. He was the manager for Ted Streete Farms in Steele, Missouri. He loved to fish, farm, and do carpentry work. Surviving are his daughter, Danniel Taylor of Morehouse, Missouri. One stepdaughter, Angela Lidsey of Caruthersville, Missouri. One stepson, James White of Caruthersville, Missouri. Three grandchildren: Candace Taylor, Roger Taylor III, and Savanna Hornback, all of Morehouse, Missouri . Fourteen step grandchildren: Ericka Lucy, April King, James King Jr., Jessie King, Kyler Hippler, Payton Ledbetter, Emma Lidsey, Timothy White, Kristen Alexander, Jamie White, Noah White, Brianna White, Charles Reeves, and Luke White. Ten step-great grandchildren. Two brothers: Steve McCoy of Ochlocknee, Georgia and Tim McCoy of Pelham, Georgia. Five sisters: Maxine Fowler and Penny Etue of Zachary, Louisiana, Kay Hanks and Bernice Basinger of Sikeston, Missouri, and Teresa Foster of Cairo, Georgia. Other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Rodney McCoy and one stepdaughter, Veronica King. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 24, 2010, from 5 to 8 PM at Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Dexter. Services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at 10:00 AM at Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Travis Crocker of Sikeston, Missouri officiating. Internment will be in the Garden of Memories in Sikeston, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
