Kathryn M. Lay

Kathryn Lay, daughter of the late Alexander and Oma Bowman McRoy, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on September 6, 1921, and passed away at the Bertrand Nursing Center in Bertrand, Missouri on November 7, 2015, at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 1 day. She had lived in the Bloomfield area all of her life. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield. She had been a baby sitter and loved children. On October 30, 1940, she was married to Hugh Lay in Bloomfield, Missouri. Surviving are her husband, Hugh Lay of Bloomfield, Missouri; three daughters & spouses, Sharon & Robert Jones of Sikeston, Missouri, Debbie & Dale Parks of Dexter, Missouri, Bonnie & Roger Gibbs of Bloomfield, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill McRoy of Bloomfield, Missouri, Bob McRoy of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and one sister, Mary Gilbee of Overland, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patsy Griffin and several brothers and sisters. Friends may visit on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, after 11:00 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Ronnie Stevens of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow at the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
