Kathryn Skelton Blythe, daughter of the late Everett and Hettie Bacon Kinworthy, was born in Dexter, Missouri, on June 3, 1931, and passed away at her home in Dexter on November 8, 2009, at the age of 78 years. She had lived in Dexter all her life. On July 5, 1952, she was married to John Skelton in Dexter. He preceded her in death in July of 1978. In October of 1952, John and Kathryn purchased Lucas Florist and Gifts in Dexter. Kathryn was active in FTD and has served as a past president of her district. Kathryn continued to own and operate Lucas Florist for 50 years until 2002. On July 27, 1981, she was married to Bill Blythe in St. Louis. He preceded her in death in October of 1990. Surviving are one daughter, Tara Skelton Miller and her husband Don Miller of Overland Park, Kansas. Other survivors include three nieces, Sandra Norris, Dana Craig, and Sue Weber. She was also survived by six nephews, Edward Kinworthy, Larry Kinworthy, Allen Kinworthy, Lindell Kinworthy, Michael Kinworthy, and Ken Kinworthy. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Kinworthy and Myrlee Kinworthy and two sisters, Norma Jean Overbey and Virginia Harris, and one niece, Sharon Hays. Many other relatives and friends survive to mourn her passing. Friends may call on Friday, November 20, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 11:00 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, with Art Norris of Puxico, Missouri, officiating. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri, with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri, in charge of arrangements.
