Kathleen "Kay" Davis, the daughter of the late Carl and Susie Burge Harper, was born in Puxico, Missouri on July 15, 1939, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico, Missouri on April 22, 2009, at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 7 days.
Mrs. Wallace had lived in Edwardsville, Illinois, Hollywood and Weirsdale, Florida before moving to Ocala, Florida in 1994. She had graduated from Puxico High School, class of 1957, and had worked for the Marion County Sheriff's Dept for 17 years as a correction officer. She was a member of the Weirsdale Baptist Church in Weirsdale, Florida. She enjoyed playing guitar, singing, writing songs, poetry, riding her Harley and having fun.
She was married to William H. "Bill" Wallace, Sr. in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1995.
Surviving are one son and daughter in law, William & Dorothy Wallace of Ocala, Florida; one granddaughter; three great grandchildren; and one sister and brother in law, Margie & Ray Durall of Rineyville, Kentucky. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Harper.
Friends may call on Friday, April 24, 2009, after 5:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with the Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
