Juanita Barber, daughter of the late William Harvey and Blanche Thompson Peppers, was born in , East Prairie Missouri on August 23, 1925, and passed away at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, Missouri on June 25, 2007, at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 3 days.
Mrs. Barber had lived in Essex, Missouri most of her life and was of the Pentecostal faith. On January 16, 1946, she was married to Louis H. Barber in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1996.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Benthal of Portageville, Missouri, Carolyn Merrick of Sikeston, Missouri, seven grandchildren,10 great grandchildren; and one brother, Shirley Peppers of Alexandria, Indiana. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, James L. Barber.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 28, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 29, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Maxwell Lewis of Bernie, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
