Juanita Allen

Juanita Lillian Allen, daughter of the late James and Lillian Hudson Mayes, was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 1, 1925, and passed away at Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center in Puxico, Missouri on November 2, 2011, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 1 day. She had lived in the St. Louis and Wright City, Missouri areas until moving to Puxico, Missouri in 1962. She was a member of the Duck Creek Missionary Baptist Church near Puxico, Missouri which was very important to her. On December 10, 1945, she was married to Robert Allen in Piggot, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1993. Surviving are two sons, Gary Allen of Shawnee, Kansas, Robert Allen of Warrenton, Missouri; one daughter, Peggy Dunning of Bridgeton, Missouri; six grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ileana Mayes and one brother, Cecil Mayes. Friends may visit on Friday, November 4, 2011, after 11:00 am at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011, at 1:00 pm in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Ralph Mayes of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
