Joseph Heskett

Joseph Harding "Joe" Heskett, son of the late William Harold & Anna Farris Heskett, was born in Horn Beak, Tennessee, on September 13, 1923, and passed away at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on July 26, 2015, at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 3 days. He had lived in Arnold, Missouri for many years, moved to Zalma in 1976 and later moved to Advance. He had worked for Maloney Electric in St. Louis and after moving to Zalma he and his wife had owned and operated the Zalma Liquor Store and then Joe's Place in Advance. On December 6, 1947, he was married to Rose Annetta Best in St. Louis, Missouri. She preceded him in death on September 13, 2014. Surviving are one son & wife, Michael & Bonnie Heskett of Fenton; five daughters & husbands, Pamela J. & Dennis Pittman of Millersville, Deborah J. Kahl of Cape Girardeau, Vickie G. & Randy Rhodes of Zalma, Brenda L. Abernathy and Sharon R. Wade both of Advance; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; and one brother, Charles H. Heskett of Muskegon, Michigan. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by, four brothers, W. "Russell", Lance T. "Jack", Paul D. and his twin James H. "Jim" Heskett; three sisters, Katherine J. Strickler, Clara D. Blechle and Nell R. Allison. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at 10:00 am at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Steve Tippen of Bloomfield officiating. Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
