Johnnie Albert Smith of Bloomfield, son of the late Hiram W. and Marie Lee Johnson Smith, was born in Randles, Missouri on October 18, 1932, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on January 26, 2016, at the age of 83 years 3 months, and 8 days. Johnnie had lived in the Bloomfield area mosst of his life. He was a member of the Missouri Street Full Gospel Church in Bloomfield. He was retired from McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis where he had worked in machine maintenace and repair. Johnny had served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On July 3, 1953, he was married to Patricia Sue Becraft in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She preceded him in death on December 25, 2014. Surviving are one son, Johnnie Michael Smith of Waxhall, North Carolina; two daughters, Debra Daniels of Bell City, Sandra Presley of Dexter; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Edward Smith of Arkansas; three sisters, Ellen Lowe of Bloomfield, Ester Cook of Jackson, and Margaret Mier of Dexter. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Albert Smith, one daughter, Tammy Lee Smith, and one brother, James C. Smith. Friends may call on Friday, January 29, 2016, after 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Dave Gargus of Wingo, Kentucky and Johnnie M. Smith of Waxhall, North Carolina officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
