John Henry Underwood, son of the late Roy Emmitt and Norma Davis Underwood, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on July 29, 1937, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on May 19, 2015, at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 20 days.
John had lived in Bloomfield all of his life. He was a member of the First Church of God in Dexter and was an active member of the communities coffee shop participants.
Surviving are one son, Troy Dean Underwood of Bloomfield; one daughter, Kim Denise Brown of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, troy Dewayne Underwood, Jacob Lee Underwood and Isabella Loveless all of Bloomfield, Samantha Brown Deimund of Cape Girardeau; one brother and wife, Steve & Joyce Underwood of Bloomfield; one sister, Geneva Grim of Dexter; and one sister in law, Imogene Underwood of Bloomfield. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer & Delmar Underwood; and two sisters, Frances Berry and Wilma Morrow.
Friends may visit on Thursday, May 21, 2015, after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Leonard Madigan of Dexter and Rev. Greg Stevens of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment to will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery with full military honors, Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
