John David Surber
John David Surber, son of the late Henry and Thelma Hancock Surber, was born in Mingo, Missouri on March 23, 1935, and passed away at his residence in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on January 8, 2013, at the age of 77 years.
He had lived in California, Washington DC, and Missouri. He worked as a newspaper printer for the St. Louis Post Dispatch. He was of Baptist faith and loved to fish, hunt, play pool, and card games.
Surviving are three sons; Jocko Surber of Dallas, Texas, Telly Surber of Shawnee, Kansas, and Tike Surber of Shawnee, Kansas; two brothers, Clayton Surber of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Harrison Surber of Little Rock, Arkansas; and one sister, Lena Kline of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Loretta Surber.
A memorial service is planned for a later date with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
