John Snyder

John A. "Jay" Snyder, the son of Doris Patricia Boles Hoffmann and John B. Snyder, was born in Birmingham, Alabama on March 17, 1963, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri August 28, 2007, at the age of 44 years, 5 months and 11 days. Mr. Snyder had lived in the Dexter area most of his life. He had worked at Arvin Automotive for many years until his health forced his retirement. He had been a committeeman with the U.A.W. when he worked. He attended the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter. He enjoyed playing Bingo at the Eagles Lodge and taking trips to the Riverboats. Surviving are two daughters and a son in law, Misty and Gerald Willems and Kayce Snyder all of Dexter, Missouri; two grandsons, Caige Andrew and Jaydan Cole Willems both of Dexter, Missouri; his parents, Pat Hoffmann of Dexter, Missouri, John B. Snyder of Dexter, Missouri; one sister and brother in law, Lynn and Dewayne Robey of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call on Friday August 31, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 1, 2007, at 10:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Tim Russell of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
