John Bill Gaines of Dexter, Missouri was born to the late Cletus Gaines and Sylvia Roxine Farmer Gaines on March 26, 1944 in Dexter, Missouri and passed away on January 31, 2021 in St. Francis Medical Center Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
John had been a resident of Dexter, Missouri and lived in St. Louis, Missouri for twenty years. He enjoyed yard sales, gambling, fishing, hunting, spending time with family and friends.
Surviving John is, one son Johnny (Melissa) Gaines of Kelso Missouri; one daughter Dawn Gaines of Springfield Illinios; three grandchildren Bradley (Heather) Gaines of Millersville, Missouri, Andrea James of Florence, Indiana, and Alex James of Dutchtown, Missouri; four great grand children Mason Gaines, Wyatt Gaines, Emitt Gaines and Willow Piper James; two brothers Richard Gaines of Dexter Missouri and Ronnie (Carol) Gaines of Nobnoster Missouri. John was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Ray Gaines and Wayne Gaines and one sister Nancy Tilley. A host of family and friends also survive. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 3, 2021, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday February 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Minister Charlie Robinson of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
