John D. Dial

John D. Dial, son of the late Charlie Dial and Nellie Williams Dial, was born in Cuba, Alabama on April 5, 1933, and passed away at his home near Dexter, Missouri on January 25, 2006, at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 20 days. He was a former resident of Alabama, Granite City, IL, Charter Oak, MO and had been a resident of Dexter, MO since 1994. He was a member of the Eagles the Am Vets in Illinois and Union Local 67. On July 12, 1952, he was married to Anna Ruth Scroggins at Piggott, Arkansas. Surviving are his wife: Anna Ruth Dial of Dexter, MO, two sons: David Bruce Dial of Granite City, IL and James Dial of Mitchell, IL, one daughter: Ruth Byrum of Mitchell, IL, five brothers: Robert Dial of California, Jim and Jake Dial both of Indiana, Walt and Pete Dial both of Alabama, two grandsons: Joshua and Jacob Byrum. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
