Jim Cleve "J.C." Lacey, the son of the late Jesse and Fannie Marler Lacey, was born in Charter Oak, Missouri on April 19, 1930, and passed away at the Westwood Hill Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on May 16, 2007, at the age of 77 years 27 days.
He had lived in Essex, Missouri most of his life. He was a retired truck driver with the Malone and Hyde Company. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.
On December 30, 1968, he was married to Ruthie Ross. She preceded him in death on April 8, 2002.
Surviving are one son, Tim Lacey of Essex, Missouri; Three daughters, Karen Auner of Ironton, Missouri, Susan Coleman of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Rebekah Williams of LaBelle , Florida; one stepson, Eddie Blackwell of Houston, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Lester Lacey of Salem, Oregon, Ernie Lacey of Mesa, Arizona; three sisters, Mary VanHook of Salem, Oregon, Lois Thomson of Oshkosh, Wisconson, and Kathy Million of Savannah, Tennessee. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother in infancy.
Friends may call after 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Dennis Ward of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
