Jewell Virginia Buckley, age 95, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away May 10, 2021 at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Buckley was born December 30, 1925, in Wayne County, Missouri to the late Bryan Oren and Gusta Leona Nolan Payne. She served as church secretary at Kingshighway Baptist Church and volunteered in many ways, including service as a member of the Missouri Baptist Hospital Auxiliary. Jewell enjoyed crafts, making quilts, crocheting, and RV living as a snowbird in Florida.
Jewell married Lynn Wilson Buckley on November 21, 1944 in Corning, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2002.
Survivors are one son, Jeffrey (Terri) Buckley of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Patrick (Teresa) Crotty, Cassondra (David) Neau, Christina (Ryan) Rado, Jennifer Buckley; six great-grandchildren, Michael and Alicia Crotty, Daniel and Andrew Neau, Cole Buckley, and Harrison Rado. One sister, Roberta Reed, of Abbeville, Louisiana and one brother, Ray (Elaine) Payne of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, two infant sons, Jerry and Larry Buckley, daughter Karen (Buckley) Crotty, and sister, Roena Damron.
Visitation will be held at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri on Friday May 14, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. in the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with burial to follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Puxico will be in charge of arrangements.
