Jessica Lynn "Jessy" Barker, daughter of Michael R. Barker and Kelly Ann Hempstead Banks was born in Midland, Michigan on March 9, 1988, and passed away at her home in Dexter, Missouri on October 4, 2011, at the age of 23 years, 6 months and 25 days. She had lived in Joplin, Missouri before moving to Dexter, Missouri in 1995. She was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, Missouri. Surviving are her father & step-mother, Michael & Sharon Barker of Dexter, Missouri; her mother, Kelly Ann Banks of Sanford, Michigan; her paternal grandparents, Lee & Ineva Barker of Dexter, Missouri; her maternal grandmother, Katie Hempstead of Midland, Michigan; three brothers, Michael Shane Prunty of Dexter, Missouri, Ron G. Inman and Ryan Banks both of Joplin, Missouri; two sisters, Amber Nicole Prunty of Dexter, Missouri, and Rebecca Lynn Barker of Kingsley, Michigan. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Bob Banks and her maternal grandfather, Hilton Hempstead. Friends may visit on Sunday, October 9, 2011, after 1:00 pm at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at 3:00 pm in the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Tim Russell of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
