Jerry C. Snider, the son of the late Asa Van and Pansy Lee LaRue Snider, was born near Essex, Missouri on August 8, 1933, and passed away at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on May 29, 2008, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 21 days. Mr. Snider had lived in Frisco and Dexter all of his life. He was a retired farmer. He attended the Broadwater Church of the Brethren in Frisco, Missouri. He had served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. On May 25, 1957, he was married to Gwen Spickelmier in Dexter, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Gwen Snider of Dexter, Missouri; two sons, Stan and Tim Snider both of Dexter, Missouri; three daughters, Marsha Gant of Dexter, Missouri, Melina Wheeler of Essex, Missouri, Vanita Snider of Dexter, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Eileen Holmes of Dexter, Missouri; one brother, A. V. Snider of LaFeria, Texas; and his mother in law, Winnie Spickelmier of Essex, Missouri. Many other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ida Lou Snider and one granddaughter, Savannah Snider. Friends may call on Monday, June 2, 2008, after 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 2, 2008, at 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Kennedy of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors conducted by Missouri Military Honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
