Jerry Edward Park
Jerry Edward Park, the son of J. D. and Edith Griffin Parks, was born in Oran, Missouri on January 17, 1943, and passed away at the John J. Pershing Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on November 13, 2008, at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 27 days.
Mr. Park had lived in Texas for seventeen years where he owned his own mobile home service business in Midland, Texas. He moved back to Puxico, Misosuri six years ago. He was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church in Midland, Texas and had attended the Providence Baptist Church near Puxico. He was an ordained minister and had served, as pastor, churches in the Puxico area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had served in Japan, Thailand and Germany during his six years of service.
Surviving are his parents, J. D. and Edith Parks of Puxico, Missouri; one daughter, Julia C. Wiblin of Dallas, Texas; one step-son, Paul Grant of Yakima, Washington; one step-daughter, Lisa Strehlow of Grapevine, Texas; six step-grandchildren; one sister, Hermena Holigan of Dallas, Texsas. Other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call after 5:00 PM on Sunday November 16, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008, at 10:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Elder Donald Adams of Matthews, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
