Jerry F. Davis, son of Malinda May Davis and the late Charles Arden Davis, was born in Essex, Missouri on January 14, 1942, and passed away at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on April 5, 2009 at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 22 days.
Mr. Davis had lived in Essex and Dexter, Missouri all his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and had received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Rupublic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of the American Legion.
In September of 1978, he was married to Jennette "Jan" Jarrell in Essex, Misosuri.
Surviving are his wife, Jan Jarrell of Dexter, Missouri; one son, Jeff Davis of Ellsinore, Missouri; two daughters, Amy Brakhane of Palm Coast, Florida, Sarah Hays of Risco, Missouri; his mother, Malinda Davis of Essex, Missouri; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Luella Smith of Wappapello, Missouri; Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Davis and Harold Davis.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Chaplain Herb Zaricor of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
