Jannette Pogue, the daughter of the late James Clifford and Ethel Hudgins Campbell, was born in Qulin, Missouri on December 17, 1935, and passed away at her home in Puxico, Missouri on November 29, 2008, at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 12 days.
Mrs. Pogue had taught school in the Malden, Dexter and Qulin Schools, and in Truman, Arkansas before moving to Puxico, Missouri in 1971. She taught school in Puxico until her retirement in 1989. After her retirement she opened and operated her own pre-school in Puxico for 18 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Puxico, the Thursday Culture Club, Sunshine Circle at the Christian Church, and Alpha Delta Kappa. She enjoyed cooking, going to church, teaching children and being with her own grandchildren.
On September 21, 1956, she was married to William Pogue in Elk, Missouri.
Surviving are her husband, William Pogue of Puxico, Missouri; one son, Gary Pogue of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one daughter and son in law, Cheryl & David Kinder of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; two grandsons, Clint Pogue and Jared Kinder; two brothers, Buel Campbell of Qulin, Missouri, Loyce Campbell of Crystal City, Missouri; three sisters, Joan Swain of Blytheville, Arkansas, Phyllis Cookson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Sally Morehead of Qulin, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Friends may call on Monday December 1, 2008, after 5:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at 10:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
