James "Dub" Holman James "Dub" Holman, son of the late Walter Franklin and May L. Moody Holman, was born in Featherston, Oklahoma on May 28, 1923, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on August 13, 2012, at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 21 days. He had lived most of his life in Jefferson County until 1981 when he moved to Bloomfield. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for Alpha Portland Cement Company for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Faith Apostolic Church of Sturdivant. He served in the United States Army and served in World War II. On August 13, 1952 he was married to Lue Ellen Kelton in Green Country, Arkansas. Surviving are his wife, Lue Ellen Holman of Dexter, Missouri; six sons, Rodney James Holman of Hurst, Texas, Richard Holman of Dexter, Eddie Holman of Hurst, Texas, Cecil Holman of Dexter, Missouri, Neal Holman of Wappapello, Missouri, and Dale Holman of Advance ; two daughters, Vickie Medley of Dexter, Missouri and Hope McCullough of Bloomfield, Missouri; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother, Leroy Holman of Festus, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Rev. Sidney Holman; and four sisters Vada Bruce, Sybil Morrison, Ruby Elouise Reece, and Polly Reando. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Michael Dutton of Marks, Mississippi officiating with Rev. Robert Hart assisting. Interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
