James Lee Duncan, the son of the late Theodore and Cleola VanBibber Duncan, was born in Dexter, Missouri on February 15, 1933, and passed away at the St. Clair Nursing Center in St. Clair, Missouri on November 12, 2015 at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 28 days.
Mr. Duncan had lived in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to St. Clair, Missouri in 1971. He was a retired printing press operator and had worked for Orchard Paper Co. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, wood working and playing golf.
On August 10, 1957, he was married to Shirley Eona Fetters in St. Louis, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2008.
Surviving are two daughters and husband, Cheryl Kay & Thomas Richardson of Richwoods, Missouri, Rhonda Lynn Gilchrist of Rolla, Missouri; one step-son and wife, Charles Cameron & Nancy Summers of Mayflower, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and five sisters, Vivian Duncan, Lenora Bishop, and Marlene Lindsay all of Dexter, Missouri, Ramona Plummer of Bloomfield, Missouri and Norma Gromer of Union, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Duncan and his step-father who raised him, Willis Ridge.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015, at 11:00 am in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
