James L. Culverhouse
James L. Culverhouse, the son of the late Daniel Price and Jessie Lee Bass Culverhouse, was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 6, 1936, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter, Missouri on June 20, 2005, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 14 days.
Mr. Culverhouse had lived in Mendin, Louisiana most of his life and had lived in Dexter the past three years. He was a truck driver for Heavy Duty Trucks. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Athens, Lousiana and attended the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, Missouri.
On May 29, 1992, he was married to Shirley Boyles in Piggott, Arkansas.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley J. Culverhouse of Dexter, Missouri, three sons, Greg Culverhouse of Shreveport, Louisiana, Dale Cobb and Lonnie Cobb both of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Lynn Walters of Monroe, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Danny Culverhouse of Benton, Louisiana, Cledie Culverhouse of Sibley, Louisiana; five sisters, Eunice Carter and Evelyn Williams both of Bossier City, Louisiana, Lucille Hunter of Saratoga, Texas, Amelia Ingrum of Homer, Louisiana, and Irene Frost of West Monroe, Louisiana. Other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2005, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at 10:00 AM in the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home Dexter, Missouri with Pastor John Ruddick of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery near Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.watkinsfuneralhome.com
