James Dallas "J.D." Buttry, son of the late Raymond and Sarah Stortz Buttry, was born in Puxico, Missouri on October 25, 1925, and passed away at the Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon, Missouri on July 5, 2010, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 10 days.
Mr. Buttry was raised in Puxico, Missouri and had lived the past 50 years in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a retired truck driver and had worked at Boise Cascade. He had served in the US Navy and was a member of the V.F.W. in Overland, Missouri.
In September 1956, he was married to Sadie Atchison in Mississippi. She preceded him in death on September 5, 2006.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Carl & Mary Atchison of St. Louis, Missouri; two daughters and sons-in-law, Willena & Derrell Wiggains of High Ridge, Missouri, Beverly & Robert White of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandsons, Dean, Brett, Carl, Kenny and Bob; eight great-grandsons, Joey, Bobby, Brian, Trent, Orion, A.J., James & Joe; four grandaughters, Nancy, Penny, Sherry and Keri; ten great grandaughters, Hanna, Sarah, Emily, Rachael, Ashley, Angela, Kaylee, Cassie, Audrey and Tia; two great great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Josh; and two brothers, Lendal Buttry of Bernie, Missouri & Ivan Buttry of Advance, Missouri. Other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by one son, James Buttry and one brother, Leon Buttry.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 7, 2010, after 11:00 PM at Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Puxico, Missouri.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. John Buttry of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
