James Lloyd "Brownie" Brown James Lloyd "Brownie" Brown, the son of the late Jess and Lura May Wilson Brown was born on November 18, 1922 in Dexter, Missouri and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on March 18, 2005 at the age of 82 years and 4 months. Mr. Brown was a graduate of the Dexter High School class of 1941. He served in the US Army during WWII where he received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Asiatic - Pacific Ribbon. He was a Life member of the Hale-Swinger V.F.W. Post in Dexter, Missouri and a member of the American Legion. He was a past Exhaulted Ruler of the Dexter Elks Lodge and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a retired Farmer and Salesman for the Vowels Tire Company. On November 10, 1944 he was married to Thelma Mossman in Piggott, Arkansas. Survivors include his wife: Thelma Mossman Brown of Dexter, Missouri, one grandson and his wife: Tim and Carolyn Fowler of Dexter, Missouri, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, two brothers: Bob Brown of Chaffee, Missouri, Marion Brown of Dexter, Missouri, two sisters: Ruth Coffey of Dexter, Missouri, and Willene Swinger of Williamsville, Missouri. Other friends and family also survive. He was preceded in death by one daughter Linda S. Fowler on December 12, 2000, one grandson David Fowler on September 5, 1996, and three sisters: Mildred Tippen, Myrtle Millington and Clara Baker. Friends may call after 9 A.M. on Tuesday March 22, 2005 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri on Tuesday March 22, 2005 at 11:30 AM with Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors provided by the Stoddard County Veterans Honor Team.
