James Robert "Bob" Braswell, son of the late William "Short" and Imogene Hartwell Braswell, was born in Lavelle, Missouri on August 5, 1937, and passed away at his home in Wappapello, Missouri on October 10, 2009, at the age of 72. Mr. Braswell lived in South Roxana, Illinois before moving to Wappapello in 1993. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Puxico where he served as a trustee, sunday school teacher and member of the choir. He enjoyed Gospel Music, Golfing, Fishing and gardening. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union Local 3643. On May 11, 1957 he was married to Deloris Crank in Dudley, Missouri. Surviving are his wife Deloris Braswell of Wappapello, Missouri. Two sons and daughters-in-law: Gary (Lynn) Braswell of Bethalto, Illinois and Terry (Teresa) Braswell of South Roxana, Illinois. Five Grandchildren: Jonathan, Jessica, Tanner Jeremy and Whitney Braswell. Two sisters: JoAnn Cookson of Wappapello, Missouri and Lana New of Risco, Missouri. Many other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son Jimmy Braswell and one brother Gary Dwayne Braswell. Friends may call on Monday, October 12, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Puxico First General Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri with Brother Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Puxico City Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
