James Henry Ash, son of the late Charles Henry and Mary Hatton Ash, was born in Shake Ray, Missouri on June 20, 1939, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on July 11, 2011, at the age of 72 years and 21 days.
He had lived in Michigan until moving to Dexter, Missouri 52 years ago.
Surviving are one son, Sammy Ash of Leslie, Missouri; three daughters, Tina Webster of St. Louis, Missouri, Lilla Irwin of Oklahoma, Beth Holtmeter of Union, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; four sisters, Phyllis Hodge of Advance, Missouri, Evelyn Null of Puxico, Missouri, Lynn Cannon of Cottage Hills, Illinois, and Flora Cooley of Pace, Florida. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen Ash and his companion for over 20 years, Pauline Langston.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2011, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 12:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Doyle Mitchell of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
