J. C. Taylor, the son of the late William A. and Ora Carter Taylor, was born in White Oak, Missouri on February 21, 1920, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on September 9, 2008, at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 19 days.
Mr. Tayor had lived in the Puxico, Missouri area all his life. He was a member of the Local #527 Cement Masons and was a retired farmer and cement finisher where he had worked for Bangert Brothers in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
On November 23, 1940, he was married to Rosetta Woods in Risco, Missouri. She preceded him in death on May 30, 1996.
Surviving are four daughters and sons in law, Connie (Bill) Crank of Puxico, Missouri, Welda (Jim) Moore, Larna (Jerry) McGowen and Lashay Taylor all of Dudley, Missouri; one grandson, Billy Crank of Puxico, Missouri; one great grandson, Jesse Crank of Puxico, Missouri; and one sister in law, Doris Taylor Bissel of Mount Morris, Michigan. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Taylor and Milton Taylor and two sisters, Lucille DuBois and Mildred Dunning.
Friends may call on Friday, September 12, 2008, after 10:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Pastors Catherine and J. C. Bryant of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
