Hettie M. Lawrence

Hettie Lawrence, the daughter of the late Lon and Lona Cochran Milam, was born in Snowball, Arkansas on March 14, 1923, and passed away at the Bertrand Ritirement Home in Bertrand, Missouri, November 30, 2005, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 16 days. She had lived in Dexter and Bernie, Missouri, moved to Puxico in 1961 and had been in the nursing home the past three years. On September 29, 1944, she was married to Charles O. Lawrence in Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1989. Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Hollis of Parma, Missouri, Carles Kay Melrose of Morehouse, Missouri, one grandchild, and one brother, Taft Milam of Morehouse, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday, December 2, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Graveside Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2005, at the Puxico Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
