Herbert Vernon "Bert" Wethington, son of the late Virgil and Elsie Johnson Wethington, was born in Cline's Island, Missouri on October 7 1937, and passed away at his home in Woodson Terrace, Missouri on December 8, 2007, at the age of 70.
Mr. Wethington had served in the US Army and retired from the Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a member of the Missouri 8 Ball Pool League.
On October 23, 1972, he was married to Phyllis Arnold.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Wethington of Woodson Terrace, Missouri; two daughters, Susan Gether and her husband, John, of Overland, Missouri, Yvonne Dee Bond and husband, Bill, of Woodson Terrace, Missouri; one son, Jim Wethington of Woodson Terrace, Missouri; two brothers, Virgil Lawrence Wethington and his wife, Elsie, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Bill Wethington and his wife, Mamie, of High Ridge, Missouri; three sisters, Charlene Klien and her husband, Harvey, of Bay, Missouri, Anna Bohrisch and her husband, Doug, of Thayer, Missouri, Judy Florida and husband, Jack, of Windsor, Missouri; four grandchildren; Terra, Jessica, Elise and Owen and one Great-Grandson Ethan. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister: Linda Carmeleen Colberg.
Friends may call on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. of officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
