Dale Pursell, son of the late Henry A. and Orlena Coats Pursell, was born in Bernie, Missouri on September 28, 1926, and passed away at Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on April 11, 2006, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 14 days.
Mr. Pursell had lived all his life in Dexter, Missouri. He was a retired mail carrier with the Dexter Post Office and was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Dexter. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force where he served during WWII.
On November 28, 1946 he was married to Margaret Jean Porter in Dexter, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Jean Pursell of Dexter, Missouri; two sons, David and Phyllis Pursell of Florissant, Missouri, Tony and Elaine Pursell of Dexter, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kevin & Danielle Pursell, Kelly Pursell, John Pursell, Ashley Battles; and three great grandchildren, Brendan Pursell, Brooke Pursell, and Landon Jarrell. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Dora Gwin, and two brothers, Elbert and Virgil Pursell.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 13, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Roger Wooten of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team conducting military rites. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
