Helen Dean Cravens Lee, daughter of the late Jess Merit Cravens and Ida Lorena O'Mars Cravens, was born July 30, 1934, in Perryville, Missouri and passed away on January 7, 2010, at the age of 75.
Helen accepted the Lord and was baptized in Castor River at the age of sixteen. Faithfully attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri.
On completing high school, she worked at Dexter International Shoe Company office as Invoice Clerk for eleven years and as time keeper at the Bloomfield Elder Manufacturing Co. office for 17 years.
Helen was a member of Bloomfield Rebekah Lodge #847 and was a member and Past Matron of Bloomfield Chapter #385, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Past President of Demolay Mother's Club in Advance.
She was united in marriage to Billy Dean Lee on March 20, 1953, at the Aquilla Mt. Pisgah Church. Billy & Helen were the first couple the late Rev. Don Stafford married, and he did a good job.
Surviving are her husband, Billy Dean Lee of Bloomfield, Missouri; one grandson, Ryan Alan Lee, one uncle, Robert Williams of Georgia and many dear cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her only child, Thomas Ray Lee, a sister, Margie Lavern Cravens, who died 5 years before Helen was born at the age of 3. But we know they are all in heaven together now.
Helen enjoyed her life, loved her family, church and friends. She and her husband, Billy, spent a lot of time through the years square dancing. They were very active members of Thunderbird Square Dance Club and put on many exhibitions especially at nursing homes. They really enjoyed being together and spent a lot of time on the golf course as a team.
Friends may call on Monday, January 11, 2010, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri. Eastern Star services will be held at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at 11:00 AM in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Susan Hoyle of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
