Hazel Bannister

Hazel Ruth Bannister, daughter of the late Dick and Katie Smith, was born in Essex, Missouri on July 24, 1930, and passed away at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri, Missouri on October 6, 2010, at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 12 days. Mrs. Bannister had spent a short time in California but had lived in Southeast Missouri most of her life, living in the Essex, Sikeston, Bloomfield and Dexter communities. She was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. Surviving are one son, Gary Moore of Cucamonga, California; one daughter, Virginia Records of Santa Clara, California; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two brothers, Jerry Smith of Sikeston, Missouri and Charles Smith of Stockton, California . Other relatives and friends also survive. The family plans to have her ashes scattered at sea in California. Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
