Harriet Hill, the daughter of the late William and Annie Ruff McKeller, was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on September 17, 1916, and passed away at the Sikeston Health Care in Sikeston, Missouri on February 14, 2008, at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 27 days. Mrs. Hill had lived in Southeast Missouri since 1923. She was a faithful and longtime member of the New Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church near Essex. She was married to William Hill on May 31, 1936 near Parma, and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1995. Surviving are five sons, Ernest Hill of Marion, Indiana, Charles Edward Hill of New Madrid, Missouri, Ben Hill of Chicago, Illinois, Donnie Wayne Hill of Sikeston, Missouri and Chester Earl Hill of Essex, Missouri; five daughters, Betty Gay of Bernie, Missouri, Willie Lee Baily of Malden, Missouri, Mabel Jacob and Annie Thompson both of Essex, Missouri and Mildred Hill of Sikeston, Missouri; seventy-six grandchildren; many many great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Mary Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by five sons, William, John, Marvin, Kevin and James; one daughter, Marydell Burks; three brothers, William, Martin and Henry McKeller; and five sisters, Essie and Ethel McKeller, Mozell Shaw, Elsie Cole and Ilene Halloway. Friends may call at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 12:00 P.M. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. James Turf of the New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Essex, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
